Heading north or south on I-65:
Take Exit 334 (Priceville-Decatur exit). Turn east on I-67, go through Priceville about 3 miles. At the top of the big hill, the Celebration Horse Arena is on your right. The arena is about 3 or 4 miles from the I-65 exit. If you get lost, call the Arena at (256) 353-7225

- Horsin' Around -
Horsin' Around is an outreach of Lisa Littrell and Dan Meyer of New Song Family Church as a chance for children (and parents) in the Hartselle/Decatur area to fellowship with each other while learning some of the basics of horseback riding.

Horsin' Around usually meets now on SUNDAY afternoons in the summer (weather permitting) at ANSA Arabians farm, 1142 Salem Road SW in Hartselle, AL starting about 4:30pm until dark.
(NOTE: Always CHECK BEFORE coming out to make sure WE ARE IN TOWN, the WEATHER FORECAST is good, and WE ARE GOING TO BE RIDING!)
Some days we have from 5-25 kids ranging from 6 to 14 years old riding on some of our older mares and geldings, while parents help out, socialize and fellowship. Even though we enjoy holding Horsin' Around as often as possible, please realize that we may have to cancel it for a number of reasons: If we are out of town or have other plans, if the pasture is soggy from rain, even from the day before, or if the heat index is hot, near 100 degrees or more, or even extremely humid. Please understand that Horsin' Around may be cancelled on these or a number of other reasons. If this happens, we will try to notify everyone via the Horsin Around e-mail mailing list. (Please join to stay in the loop!)
Beginner riders can gain confidence while learning to ride and care for the horses, while more advanced riders can learn more advanced techniques in riding English and Western Pleasure, grooming and showing horses, as well as getting prepared to have fun with the other kids while showing in the TVAHA Spring and Fall "Fun Shows" in Huntsville.
You do not need to be an experienced rider to come to Horsin' Around, you do not need to belong to New Song Church (although you're always welcome to join us!), and you do not need to bring your own horse or fancy riding gear. Just bring yourself in appropriate dress (jeans or riding clothes) and footwear (boots or sturdy shoes recommended!). You're also welcome to bring carrots, apples or other healthy treats for the horses (and yourself!), and invite your friends! There's no charge for riding and there are no dues or other fees.
If you get tired of horseback riding, you can always socialize, fellowship, play with the horses, dog, cats, chickens, parrots, do some fishing, play guitar, cookout, or just relax! Feel free to bring acoustic instruments and invite your friends. We just like to get together to fellowship and have fun, so come preprared to have some fun Horsin' Around!

We use this mailing list as a way for us to all keep in touch with each other in case of bad weather, rain, heat, schedule changes or other reasons that Horsin’ Around might get cancelled or postponed.
